The center point of my work has always been relationships. I am interested in how intimacy, vulnerability and comfort look in different types of relationships. Being a woman in my 20s, I feel an immense amount of societal pressure to pursue romantic relationships. There is a rhetoric that romantic relationships are the only place where one can find emotional intimacy, but I find this claim to be false.

This body of work focused on capturing moments of intimacy between friends. Intimacy meaning moments of closeness. I think about the closeness of a friend's supportive nurturing touch, the moments you share telepathically communicating across a room, the way your friends can be there for you in your hardest moments. My work is a celebration of these plutonic relationships, those moments of comfort and intimacy, and the universally-understood feeling they evoke.
